Matata Recreation Reserve
The Matata Department of Conservation campsite offers a coastal setting with excellent fishing and swimming in a family campsite. The camp is adjacent to Matata wildlife refuge, a haven for wetland bird species, with walking tracks and viewing areas.
Getting there: Off SH2 in Matata township, head across the causeway to the campground, 200m.
