With the ease of communications in today's world, many people are choosing to live and work in places far from busy cities.
The Maori people who make up nearly 50% of this district are proud of their heritage and their language is strong and vibrant. Their history and culture is a source of interest and fascination to visitors to our community and local people are friendly and willing to share.
