Design the Future of the Bay of Plenty
The Strategic Development group is looking for two enthusiastic planners to join its Strategic Support team. Come and work with us and help Council to achieve its sustainable development vision by working on a range of strategic documents relating to all areas of Council's work. The positions are currently located in sunny Whakatane.

Senior Planner
Take a lead role in the development of the 2009 Ten Year Plan by working with Council and staff across the organisation as the direction is set for the next ten years. This is a strategic role which will fundamentally shape the future of our organisation and the region. Work on key organisational policy and planning processes including performance monitoring and reporting and topical projects in all areas of sustainable development.

Planner (entry/intermediate level)
Help Environment Bay of Plenty to achieve its goals in this broad and interesting role. The role includes contributing to the development of the 2009 Ten Year Plan, monitoring and reporting of the Bay of Plenty's community outcomes, undertaking research and analysis at the leading edge of Council's strategic planning processes, and working on "hot" topical issues.
