Christmas celebrations

Whakatane District has a number of events to celebrate Christmas. The annual Christmas Parade includes community floats that wind their way through the town centre to the delight of the local children and Christmas shopping crowds. The Christmas in the Park concert is a free event with many local and national performers combining to create a musical extravaganza and fun evening for the whole family.
