Trust Horizon Light Up, Whakatāne - Opening Ceremony and Parade

This is the first night of the eight-night festival and we will be opening the event in style!

The Opening Ceremony will include:

• Join us from the festival zone from 4pm for Karakia and welcome
• Entertainment and dance performances, kapa haka and music groups till late (bring your chair and blankie)
• Light costume and lantern parade - everyone is invited to join or watch as we illuminate the night. Dress up in sparkling lights, create your own lantern, glide on skates, or let the kids hop on their scooters for a lively procession 
• Mid-winter night market 
• Artist Trail - note, the light’s are turned on from 6pm
