Whakaahua: Now I sit as Pounamu on Papatūānuku
This art exhibition features photography by Kirikiriroa/Hamilton-based artist Tia Barrett, and tapa cloth beaten by Matātā-based artist Israel Randell. These brand new works celebrate the artists' connections to their whakapapa and the environments they inhabit.
This is the first time Tia and Israel have exhibited together. It's an honour to host their mahi toi at Wormhole Gallery and Studio. The gallery is inside Riverslea Mall, opposite the Medical Centre - come and find us! Wednesday - Friday 12pm - 4pm, Saturdays 10am - 2pm, Closed on public holidays (Friday 14th July)
A number of special events run alongside this exhibition, including a tapa demonstration, Matariki workshop, and celebratory closing event. Please see our other listings, or visit our website for more details.
