Whāngai i te Hautapu! Arise Matariki!

Too late, you missed it

Begin the Matariki New Year with a Hautapu ceremony that will take place on the first day of the Tangaroa moon with he umu kohukohu whetu, a steamy star oven.

Join us in the remembrance and understanding of the Hautapu ceremony through karakia, kōrero, waiata and kai. View the Matariki constellation and learn more through local kaikōrero speakers and their knowledge of the stars. Hot soup will be available to warm you up from the inside, while your Matariki cup is filled.
