AGM & Manta Watch Film

Too late, you missed it

Forest and Bird is having a film showing of Manta Watch following its AGM on 7 May at REAP.  The AGM is at 7pm and the film will start at approximately 730pm. A $5 koha is requested to fund the film about our special manta ray species.

The film's primary objective is to promote awareness and connection with our offshore spaces, whilst strengthening our manta community - the BOP is a key manta sightings area.

The Manta Watch NZ Project combines dedicated research and citizen science to learn more about Aotearoa's oceanic manta ray population. This is to establish better understanding and long term national protections around this globally endangered species.

By collecting and submitting pictures and videos to our project, citizen scientists contribute invaluable insights into this elusive species, you can check out our website with interactive sightings map here.

Our short film is a great starting point for people to learn more about and engage with the species and the project. Please find the trailer here.

Supper and time to chat after.  All welcome.
