Te Waiu o Pukemaire / Braemar Springs

Five minutes from Whakatāne, this championship course offers a great golf experience and is one of the finest golf courses in the Bay of Plenty.

This picturesque, well-groomed 18-hole course is on flat, easy walking land and is adjacent to the Tarawera River with mountain views and bird life adding to the enjoyment for players. 

Internationally-acclaimed for his fly fishing expertise of 27 years, operates from Murupara.

This mural is a collaboration with Ushy Ushy from the Cook Islands and is about the migration of the waka from the Cook Islands to the Bay of Plenty, and keeping the connection alive between all of us. 

The Mataatua waka first landed at Te Toka Tapu, which is sited opposite Turuturu Roimata (Statue Rock) at the Whakatāne river mouth. 

The gardens comprise rose gardens, a formal entrance, scented garden and areas for bulbs, shrubs and perennials.
