Crowd holding up team all blacks sign

Whakatāne, passionate about belonging to Team All Blacks!

Hundreds took part in an epic haka at the recent BOP Steamers Rugby match in a bid to draw the All Blacks to Whakatāne.

The event was part of the All Blacks to the nation campaign which would see the successful town receive a visit from the All Blacks prior to their departure to the Rugby World Cup.

The Haka was held at the Whakatāne rugby park during half time of the Bay of Plenty Steamers vs Auckland game. Teams from the Mataatua Regional Kapa Haka competition joined in to lead the haka and to show their support for #TeamAllBlacks.

Thank you to the thousands of fans who joined in the celebrations to welcome members of the All Blacks Rugby World Cup 2015 squad to Whakatāne!
