Motorhome Friendly Spots

We have a variety of paid and non-paid spots - the choice is yours. We just ask you to treat the environment, residents and fellow visitors with consideration and respect.

Situated near the township and only a minute's walk to the Rangitāiki river. Premium and standard cabins along with powered and non-powered campervan and tent sites.

Island View Holiday Park is situated on stunning Waiotahi Beach, Ōpōtiki - a true beachside location, with unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and overlooking White Island.

A nostalgic kiwi experience. Murphy’s Holiday Camp holds strongly to the camping style we know and love. A place for families to create memories for the future.

The warm-hearted people of this region beam with pride and rightly so, there is much to boast about in Whakatāne and Ōhope Beach.

Where can I park overnight in the Whakatāne District?

We are lucky to live in a very special environment. Although we are freedom camping-friendly, we need to balance this with protecting our environment. Camping regulations apply to all public areas that the Whakatāne District Council owns or manages and visitors to the District are asked to comply with those regulations. In most public places, overnight parking is only allowed in self-contained vehicles.
