Movie Villains - Whakamax

Jinan Dodd is an artist and musician from Whakatāne, New Zealand. He enjoys painting in a cubist style and takes influence from the likes of George Condo and Pablo Picasso. His graphic piece incorporating iconic movie characters is on the massive back wall of Whakamax Cinema.

This sculpture, commissioned by the Molly Morpeth Canaday Trust and crafted by Jonathon Campbell in 2007, honors the renowned New Zealand author Margaret Mahy.
