Te Kura Whare – Tūhoe Living Building

Te Kura Whare is New Zealand’s first living building. It embodies Tūhoe and Tūhoetana values of respect for nature and whenua, inspired by the unity of people.

Te Kura Whare offers a unique opportunity to bring your hui or event to New Zealand’s most sustainable building.

Facilities include the Tribal Chamber that is suitable for conferences, dinners and other large events. The space can seat up to 500 attendees. An outdoor amphitheatre is available for outdoor events, including concerts, dances, plays or other large functions that require space for up to 3000 people.

Three smaller hui rooms can host team or group discussions. Each room can seat up to 8 people comfortably. Onsite catering for your event available from Mou Mou Kai Café on request.
