Oceanianess

  -

Oceanianess is the latest exhibition by Tahitian artist Tokainiua Devatine.

My works are organised around a narrative about issues that are linked for me to the idea of Te Taura Pito - Te Kaula Piko, being linked with the pito, that participate to our existence and growing: the link to the ocean, the link with the making, creativity, the link with our stories, mythology and the link with our elders. They are for me what bind us (taura) to others but first to ourselves, to what contribute to our oceanianess, as Islanders from Te Moana Nui a Hiva.
