Nature's Road Heartland Ride 2026
Nature's Road Heartland Ride 2026
23rd – 26th January | Auckland Anniversary Weekend
We’re back for round two - a ride like no other.
Connection, adventure, and experiencing the mana of the land and its people.
Locals welcome tānata from all walks of life to come together and experience the beauty of Whirinaki and Te Urewera on two wheels. Whether you're a beginner, a pro, or just curious — bring your whānau and friends.
Starting in Te Whaiti, we’ll journey along Nature’s Road – SH38, through Whirinaki and Te Urewera, finishing at Waikaremoana.
Along the way, you’ll be welcomed by local whānau from Ngāti Whare and Ngāi Tūhoe, hosted at marae, and supported every step (or pedal) of the way.
Ride your way – full route or relay with whānau and friends
Stay with us — marae, camping and other accommodation - or self-supported freedom camping
Need support? — shuttles and e-bike hire available
We are also looking at bringing some exciting off bike activities to do along the way.
Whether you’re chasing a challenge, returning for round two, or keen to experience the nahere in a new way, Nau mai, haere mai rā!
